Country star Luke Bryan was seen drinking and driving but cops say it’s ok, reports TMZ.

The “That’s My Kind of Night” singer wore a smile, backwards baseball cap, and shades, while knocking back a brewski in July, and he was in the driver’s seat. But because Bryan was taking a joyride in his truck on his private ranch in Tennessee, police reportedly said he was doing nothing wrong.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, the 37-year-old country crooner had every legal right to enjoy his can of Anheuser-Busch as state law permits drivers to drink while operating a vehicle as long as it’s on private property.

Ironically, Bryan’s latest single is called “Drink a Beer.”

“It’s one of the coolest sad songs I’ve ever heard,” he told Radio.com, according to AceShowbiz.com. “I just thought it was an amazingly written song.”

Bryan explained what the song is about saying it is “something that everybody can connect with, because so many people out there have lost somebody. And their connection with them was, they used to have a beer in a bar with them, or have a beer anywhere with them. Drinking a beer with a friend is a huge connection, and that song (brings) all those emotions together.”
